    The taste of the season

Let the forest shape the meal.

As summer turns toward autumn, Lapland gives its best. Wild berries ripen close to the trail and mushrooms appear beneath the trees. Together with Ville, learn to recognize edible plants and fungi, then prepare safe seasonal finds outdoors.

Fresh mushroom pasta or risotto, and a fresh berry compote, are possible dishes. They are examples rather than a set menu. What you cook depends on the safe ingredients available that day.

Read the plants, berries and mushrooms with a guide.

    Pause along the way

Freshly identified edible berries can be enjoyed on a break.

Prepare a simple meal together from safe, available finds.

    The rhythm of the trail

A day shaped by the group.

The wilderness gives each day its rhythm. Ville adjusts the route to the group and the weather, with space for pauses, field learning and time to cook what the season offers.

    01

    Read the day first

Each day begins with a route and weather check. Ville chooses a safe, rewarding line for the group in front of him, rather than forcing a plan that no longer fits the conditions.

    02

    Walk trails and open ground

The route moves between marked trails and pathless terrain, with around 15 km of walking on a typical day. Pauses for water, food and field learning shape a steady rhythm.

    03

    Learn what grows

With Ville, the group learns to recognize edible plants, berries and mushrooms where they grow. Identification comes before gathering or tasting, with time to understand when a find belongs in the landscape.

    04

    Cook what the day offers

Fresh mushroom pasta or risotto, and a fresh berry compote, are possible dishes. The meal depends on safe ingredients in season, so the menu follows the day rather than a fixed promise.

    Safety and trust

Good judgement belongs in the plan.

Remote terrain deserves care before the first step. Ville keeps the experience grounded in preparation, clear communication and decisions that respect the weather and the people walking through it.

Nothing beats good old map and compass navigation in the wilderness. As a backup for special situations, we have GPS navigation and InReach satellite features.

    Routes respond to the group

Daily routes and path choices are adjusted to the group’s capability, preparation and the weather on the ground.

    Weather sets the boundary

The plan leaves room for good judgement. Open fell ascents are not chosen when conditions make them unnecessary or unsafe.

    Prepared for emergencies

Advanced first-aid capability and evacuation planning are part of responsible guiding. In certain cases evacuation costs are the responsibility of the person being evacuated.

    A respectful group space

Every guest deserves a calm, welcoming wilderness experience. Discrimination and harassment have no place on the trail.
